Focus: MedTech, BioTech, and Pharmaceutical Research. This includes "One Health" initiatives and the recent €3.5 million investment into Brain Health

Marine & Maritime Technologies

Focus: To leverage Malta’s geography for Blue Economy projects, offshore renewable energy, and "Gaia Blu" research vessel initiatives.

Smart Manufacturing & Aviation

Focus: Industry 4.0, Robotics, and Aerospace. Xjenza Malta has a dedicated Space Unit that funds research into satellite data and communications through the ESA PECS agreement

Sustainable Use of Resources

Focus: Research into Clean Energy, Water Scarcity, and Circular Economy solutions.
